OUTING IN THE DELTA

21 SEPTEMBER 2014

The following day started quite cloudy in Berkeley so we decided to head to Sherman Island in the delta. I’d never sailed there so I was looking forward to discover the place with friends Lynn, Anders and Lasse.  What an awesome place! Leaving Berkeley still fogged up, the sun soon appeared and so did the wind.  That place is windy! It’s in the middle of nowhere so the wilderness definitely adds to the atmosphere. Not only it’s sunny and windy but warm too!!! Not having slalom kit, Lasse and I rigged up the smallest stuff we had for Formula and away we went. The chop was short but really manageable as the tide was still flooding. It was a lot of fun and in sharp contrast with the conditions of the Bay which are, let’s face it, often intimidating!  Anyway, that was a cool way to wind down after a busy season!
